Many people can only see the $$ signs but as a parent of a neurologically damaged child (Autism) I cannot stand the thought of Fracking in NY. It is TOXIC and harmful in so many ways to human health.
IT'S NOT WORTH IT!
It's BANNED in other countries for a reason!
I hope that I was able to copy this on here correctly but if not just go to:

bit.ly/107Zcek FRACK AMERICA, SHIP GAS OVERSEAS?
Another Critical Deadline Looming
While those of us who live in New York were scrambling to meet the state’s deadline for commenting on proposed fracking regulations, another deadline is fast approaching – one that could affect every American, no matter where they live. January 24th is the last day to submit comments on a deeply flawed economic study that the Obama Administration will use to decide whether or not to permit gas corporations to export liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The consequences of this decision could have a major impact - if the gas industry can’t export gas overseas, it will, at least in the short term, have to scale back fracking because it’s already producing more shale gas than the U.S. market can readily absorb. On the other hand, if the industry is allowed to ship shale gas to countries where natural gas is four or five times more expensive than it is here at home, then the financial incentive to frack every square of inch America will be tremendous. Unfortunately it appears that the Obama Administration isn’t even considering the environmental and health impacts of fracking as it formulates export policy.
Tell the U.S. Department of Energy to reject the flawed economic study.
Tell the Obama Administration it must not permit fracked gas to be sold to foreign countries.
CATSKILL CITIZENS REACHES OUT
TO RESIDENTS OF “TARGET” COUNTIES
Governor Cuomo hasn’t leveled with New Yorkers, so no one can predict exactly when or where high-volume hydraulic fracturing may be introduced in the state. One thing is already clear: politically powerful constituencies like New York City will be given a measure of protection that won’t be extended to rural communities. Last summer the Cuomo administration leaked a plan to let the gas industry “frack” five Southern Tier counties while temporarily keeping other areas of the state off-limits. Now those five counties - Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Steuben and Tioga - are in the industry’s crosshairs.
Next week Catskill Citizens will begin mailing an informational brochure to over 190,000 households in these five target counties. It poses the question “Are you ready to be part of Governor Cuomo’s experiment?” The brochure describes industry exemptions from key environmental laws that can lead to drinking water contamination, and points out that individual property rights are no match for powerful gas drilling corporations.

GOVERNOR CUOMO,
CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?
On Friday, January 11th, we sent Governor Cuomo an unmistakable message:
We will not be fracked!
Our message was delivered in the form of over 200,000 comments and letters sharply critical of the state’s proposed fracking regulations. Cuomo’s regs are a disgrace. They read as though they were written by industry lobbyists, and maybe they were. Important scientific research was utterly ignored. Instead, the state’s Division of Mineral Resources offered up baseless statements and assumptions pulled from a hole as deep as a Marcellus well - exactly what you’d expect when environmental policy is put in the hands of an avowed climate change denier.
The overwhelming public response to Cuomo’s ill-conceived attempt to permit fracking was a collaborative effort on the part of thousands of individuals and dozens of organizations including Artists Against Fracking, and Grassroots Environmental Education. Catskill Citizens for Safe Energy is pleased to be submitting almost 24,000 letters from its members – not bad for an organization that doesn’t have a single paid staff member, or even an office.
Heartfelt thanks to all who made this effort such a resounding success.
Tell Governor Cuomo "Don’t Frack New York!"
What you can do to prevent fracking.
•Tell Governor Cuomo to Fire the Climate Change Denier in charge of fracking in New York State.
•PROTECT NEW YORK! PLEDGE TO RESIST!
"FRIEND GOVERNOR ANDREW CUOMO
The Governor may ignore our letters, phone calls, emails and faxes, so let's try another approach: let's friend him on Facebook - and turn his homepage into one of the biggest online anti-fracking sites in the country!
